With former Cardiff Harbour Master, Rob Freemantle at the helm we are expanding the team and continue to recruit and train the best marine engineers in the business.

Christopher Odling Smee Christopher Odling-Smee is one the three principal directors and shareholders of Cardiff Marine Group and was behind the development and expansion of the group's facilities and development programmes. Christopher owns and directs numerous businesses ranging from property to management consultancy in both the UK and Switzerland where he lives with his family. |
Drew McDonald Drew shares the running of Cardiff Marine Group’s activities with his fellow directors and is responsible for the ongoing development of the business. He is a principle shareholder and is proud to be part of such a progressive organisation. Prior to Cardiff Marine Group, Drew ran an international property business and a niche investment consultancy. His passion for property remains undiminished and his enthusiasm for the marine industry grows exponentially each day. |

Kerry McDonald Kerry’s business experience includes a broad range of skills, from direct marketing and sales in his overseas property company to Sales Director of a public corporation. Kerry enjoys the everyday challenge of business and is delighted to be a director and shareholder in one of Cardiff’s most exciting projects. |
Robert Freemantle Rob is responsible for the day to day running of Cardiff Marina and Cardiff Marine Services. He has a wealth of experience in the marine trade making him invaluable to the company and our customers. His experience includes being coxswain of a Bristol Channel pilot cutter, running his own sailing school for 17 years, being a competitive offshore racer and being the former Harbour Master of Cardiff Bay. He is currently a highly regarded RYA Yachtmaster Examiner for both power and sail boats. |

Liz Freemantle Liz joined the company in 2007 as our Accounts Manager and her role has developed as the business has grown. She has a wealth of accounting experience in Finance, Lettings and the Hospitality industry. Liz is a very keen sailor, particularly enjoying racing regularly and is also a keen collector of Fossils. |
Dillon Matthews Dillon has been with the company since October 2008, he has a wide ranging role including reception, working on the sales and purchase ledger and credit control. The company is currently sponsoring him to complete the ACCA qualification. |

Alison Gregory Ali joined the company in April 2008 and is responsible for marketing and PR across the Group’s businesses. She has a Masters in International Public Relations from Cardiff University and is rapidly developing her knowledge of the boating world. |
Anthony Freemantle Anthony joined the company in May 2010 assisting in accounts at the Marine Village Reception, Marina & when required in boatyard operations. He has a boating background, with experience of repairs in fibre glass boats. |

Nathan Hewitt Nathan is responsible for special projects and business development within CMG. He is a Chartered Engineer with 12 years experience in the development of large scale sustainable land and marine based projects. Nathan's experience spans all building sectors across the globe, but his focus has now turned to the marine environment in the UK. |
Tim James Tim has recently joined the company and is responsible for managing the existing Volvo Penta client base and developing new business for parts and service in the Marine leisure, Marine commercial and Industrial engine sector. |

Dale Jones Dale joined the company in October 2009 and brings with him a sound knowledge of Volvo Penta parts sales and distribution knowing only too well the importance of competitive prices and speedy deliveries demanded by the industry. |

Hugh Fletcher Hugh joined the company in May 2010 to support Rob in managing the operations of Cardiff Marina and Cardiff Marine Services. Hugh is a successful sailor having raced professionally and managed numerous teams. He has sound experience of rigging and sail making and his knowledge of the marine industry along with his recognised RYA qualifications have added further depth to the team he leads. |
Simon Thomas Simon is our longest serving member of staff. He is a keen sailor with a wealth of experience in all areas of the marine industry and is responsible for general boat maintenance and osmosis treatments. He is a RYA dinghy instructor and a qualified RYA Yachtmaster. |

Jason Whitham Jason has been with the company for a number of years. He is our resident carpenter and his craftsmanship skills ensure a high standard is maintained on all boat maintenance jobs. |
Stan Cheeseman Stan has worked with the company for several years. He has worked in many areas of the marine industry and currently specialises in boat moving and lifting for the company. He is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Cardiff Marina. |

Gareth Davies Gareth has been with the company for several years. As an experienced diesel fitter he is our chief engineer heading up our expanding engine section. Gareth has a vast knowledge of all types of vessel. |

Paul Jones Paul has recently joined the company and is running our marine services branch in Swansea. He brings with him a wealth of engineering knowledge having spent 15 years in the Royal Navy, he then set up his own marine engineering company which he ran for 10 years before selling it and continuing to be involved as the Service Manager. He has a number of technical qualifications and has an in-depth knowledge of Volvo Penta engines. |

Lee Hughes Lee entered the marine industry after undertaking multiple marine based engineering courses with main dealers. He now applies this knowledge at our Swansea site where he is a Trainee Mechanical Engineer. |
